Prizes and Awards
2026 marks the 10th anniversary of the Simon Marais Mathematics Competition, proudly supported by our primary donor the Marais Family Office. We also like to acknowledge the donor support of the Stonehage Fleming Charitable Foundation and
Dr Philipp Hofflin.
As part of our ongoing commitment to recognising the achievements of our students, we have increased the prize pool for student prizes from 2026 including our Top 10 prizes and Best-in-University prizes. The total student prize pool across both divisions is over $175,000 AUD.
In 2026, University places will be calculated according to the formula set out in the SMMC Rules. Universities that that place in the Top 3 in each division will be awarded a hard-copy certificate and receive acknowledgement on our website and social media alongside student results.
Note: All prizes are stated in Australian dollars. Non-Australian recipients are subject to foreign exchange rates and charges.
