SMMC and COVID-19
The organisers of the Simon Marais Mathematics competition will try to do everything possible to return to normal conditions for the 2021 competition.
However, given that the COVID-19 situation is still far from under control in many parts of the world, the organisers will follow last year's protocol and regularly review issues around individual safety, lock-downs and social distancing regulations. To ensure the well-being and safety of all involved in the competition, the organisers reserve the right to make changes, including late changes, to how the competition is run. |
If due to COVID-19 fewer students are able to participate in 2021 than under normal circumstances or if the integrity of the competition is compromised due to the need for a hybrid or fully on-line version, changes may also be made to the existing prize categories and to the total prize pool.
Participating universities are kindly requested to inform the organisers if they anticipate difficulties in holding the Competition under regular exam conditions, or have difficulty in registering their university by the due date. |
